73 years of production come to an end: Turkey's long-standing textile factory closes

Orta Anadolu Ticaret ve Sanayi İşletmesi T.A.Ş., one of Turkey's long-standing textile manufacturers, has completely ended its production activities in Kayseri. Following the production halt on September 11, 2026, in accordance with the schedule previously announced by the company, the facilities were closed as of October 12.

The company management announced that employees' employment contracts would terminate on the closing date. It was stated that severance and notice pay, along with other legal claims, will be paid no later than November 7, 2026.

Founded in Kayseri in 1953, Orta Anadolu Mensucat was among the important producers in the Turkish textile sector for many years. The company also operated in the global market, particularly by supplying denim fabric to international clothing brands starting in 1986.

It was stated that the closure decision is not a temporary production break or a capacity reduction, but rather covers the permanent termination of production activities in Kayseri.

It was noted that the contraction in demand in the global textile sector and rising production costs in Turkey were influential in the company's decision. Thus, the operations of the facility, which had a production history of approximately 73 years, have come to an end.
