Activity in the stock market, gold, and foreign currency! Here are the week's top-performing investment vehicles
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul closed the week with a 3.17% gain, while foreign currency and gold also provided returns for investors. As the dollar and euro gained value, quarter gold rose to 5,903 TL and gram gold to 3,524 TL. Among investment funds, equity funds were the top performers.
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul provided returns for investors this week. The BIST 100 index recorded a 3.17% increase on a weekly basis, closing at 10,840.59 points. During the week, the index saw a low of 10,357.09 and a high of 10,862.97 points.
An upward trend was also observed in foreign exchange rates. The US dollar gained 0.62% on a weekly basis to reach 36.6740 liras, while the euro rose by 0.86% to 39.9220 liras.
An upward trend also dominated the gold market. The gram price of 24-karat bullion gold in the Grand Bazaar rose by 3.10% to reach 3,524 liras. The selling price of Republic gold increased by 2.98% to 23,861 liras, while quarter gold found buyers at 5,903 liras with a 3.02% increase.
Investment funds also provided returns for their investors. In general, investment funds gained 1.50% in value, while pension funds gained 1.27%. Among fund categories, the top performers were "equity" funds with a 2.75% increase.
