Affecting millions: The final day for debt restructuring is approaching
The application period for those wishing to restructure their tax and social security premium debts will end on August 31, 2026.
The deadline for the application process regarding the restructuring of tax and social security premium debts is approaching. Debtors who wish to benefit from the regulation must complete their applications by August 31, 2026.
The draft law containing the regulations for public receivables was published in the Official Gazette on June 4 and entered into force. It was reported that citizens who apply within the specified dates under the restructuring scheme will be able to benefit from low interest rates and installment options.

APPLICATION CHANNELS
Applications for tax debt restructuring can be made electronically via the Revenue Administration's website gib.gov.tr, the Digital Tax Office dijital.gib.gov.tr, and e-Devlet.
The application process can also be carried out by going directly to the tax office where the debt is owed or by mail. There is also the possibility of written application through other tax offices.

The regulation covers public receivables that were due as of June 5, 2026, but remained unpaid until June 16, 2026, and are collected by tax offices affiliated with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
It was stated that debtors who request a deferral until August 31, 2026, must pay the first installment by the same date at the latest. The number of installments for deferred debts will be determined by taking into account the debtor's "very difficult situation" status, the type of receivable, and its legal status.
It is envisaged that the restructured debts will be paid in equal monthly installments, starting with the first installment in September 2026. It is important for those who will apply to check the payment plan through the relevant digital channels or the tax office.
