SCT reduction coming for these cars: It will drop from 80 percent to 30 percent

A special consumption tax (ÖTV) reduction is coming for plug-in hybrid vehicles.

If the legislative proposal submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) is accepted, the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) rate on plug-in hybrid automobiles will drop to as low as 30 percent.

WHICH CARS WILL BE DISCOUNTED?

According to a report by automotive writer Emre Özpeynirci, the Toyota C-HR, the first plug-in hybrid model produced in Turkey, will not be able to benefit from this incentive.

Özpeynirci stated, "It is interesting that while there has been no tax base update for other domestic models for 2 years, only imported brands are being incentivized," and listed the models that will benefit from the SCT reduction.

THERE IS ONLY ONE MODEL WHOSE SCT HAS BEEN REDUCED FROM 80 PERCENT TO 30 PERCENT

Accordingly, the only model whose Special Consumption Tax (SCT) will be reduced from 80 percent to 30 percent is the BYD Seal U DM-I.
