Iraqi officials do not confirm Bayraktar: No official notification received from Turkey
Evaluating Energy Minister Bayraktar's statement that the oil pipeline would reopen within a week, officials from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil stated that they had not received any official notification regarding the matter from the source.
'WE MUST BE OFFICIALLY INFORMED'
Following the statement made on Monday by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar regarding the readiness of the crude oil pipeline, a senior official from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, "As the Ministry of Oil, we must be officially informed by the Turkish side regarding the latest developments concerning the status of the pipeline."
'WE ONLY HEARD IT IN THE MEDIA'
While the ministry official stated that they 'only heard' Bayraktar's announcement in the media, a second energy consultant noted that Iraq is also waiting for discussions regarding 'pending financial and technical issues'.
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced on Monday, October 2, that they would put the Iraq-Turkey Oil Pipeline, which was damaged due to the February 6 earthquakes centered in Maraş, into operation within this week.
