JPMorgan has revised its 2026 growth forecast for the Turkish economy downward. The bank lowered its growth expectation, which it had previously announced as 3 percent, to 2.5 percent.
It was stated that the potential effects of the turmoil in Turkey's fund sector on economic activity were prominent in the change of forecast. In a previous assessment, the bank had pointed out that these developments could create pressure on economic activity in the last quarter of the year.
According to JPMorgan's new projection, the Turkish economy is expected to grow by 2.5 percent in 2026. This revision represents a 0.5 percentage point decrease compared to the previous forecast.
In the bank's assessment, it was emphasized that developments in the fund sector create downside risks for the growth outlook. Markets continue to monitor how these effects will reflect on economic activities and whether there will be any further updates to growth expectations.
