Labor union and employer reach agreement: Net salaries exceed 100,000 TL
Significant increases in workers' net salaries and social benefits have been achieved through a new collective bargaining agreement at the Baysan Trafo Kazanları factory, which operates in the Kartepe district of Kocaeli. As of June, the net salary of employees at the factory will rise to 102,000 TL.
Long-standing collective bargaining negotiations at the Baysan Trafo Kazanları factory in the Kartepe district of Kocaeli have reached a successful conclusion with the fulfillment of the workers' demands.
With the final agreement signed between the labor union and the employer, significant increases were secured in the wages and social benefits of the 220 union members working at the factory.
Under the scope of the agreement, the average net wage rose to the 90,000 TL level with the raise granted to workers. Furthermore, with an additional 13 percent raise projected for the second half of the year, employees' salaries are planned to increase to a net of 102,000 TL in June. It was also stated that improvements were made to social benefits.
While collective bargaining negotiations continue in many industrial enterprises across Turkey in February, the agreement at the Baysan Trafo Kazanları factory has set a positive example for workers in the sector. With the collective bargaining agreement, both the increase in wages and the improvements in social benefits were met with satisfaction among the workers.
