Lottery date set for rental housing starting at 10,000 TL!

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced that the application phase for the rental social housing project implemented by TOKİ has been completed. According to the Ministry's announcement, the lottery process will begin for citizens who meet the requirements after the applications are reviewed.

Within the scope of the model to be implemented for the first time in Istanbul, 1,071 residences will be rented out in the first phase. In a post on his social media account, Kurum stated, “We have completed the first stage of our Rental Social Housing Project, which we are implementing with TOKİ. We have collected the applications, and now the review process begins. We will determine the owners of the 1,071 residences among our citizens who meet the requirements via a lottery in October and deliver our first keys. Our homes are waiting for the people of Istanbul.”

According to the statement made by the Ministry, applications began on September 14 via e-Government and were completed as of September 25. Applications were received through the “Housing/Workplace Application” menu within TOKİ services. No application fee was requested from citizens for this campaign.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND RENTAL AMOUNTS

The rental social housing system, which will be implemented within the scope of the 500,000 Social Housing Project, will be available to married Turkish citizens over the age of 18 who have a household income of less than 100,000 TL in Istanbul and do not own a home registered in their name in the land registry. Applicants will also be required to have resided in Istanbul uninterruptedly for at least 1 year.

Rental prices for the housing units will start at 10,000 TL. The residences will be rented out in 1+1, 2+1, 3+1, and 4+1 types depending on the groups. It is planned to allocate 1+1 or 2+1 units to young married couples, and 2+1, 3+1, or 4+1 units to families with two or more children.

The distribution of the residences by district groups in the first phase has also been announced. 360 residences will be rented in the first group consisting of Başakşehir, Gaziosmanpaşa, Beyoğlu, and Güngören; 330 residences will be rented in the second group consisting of Maltepe, Tuzla, and Kartal.

A lottery will be held for 291 residences in the third group, which includes Ataşehir, Sancaktepe, Ümraniye, and Üsküdar, and for 90 residences in the fourth group, which consists of Arnavutköy. Following the review process, the residences of citizens whose applications are deemed valid will be determined by a lottery to be held in October, and the delivery process will begin.
