New era for real estate listings: This is how they will be shared from now on

The Ministry of Trade continues its audit and regulatory efforts regarding the Electronic Listing Verification System (EİDS) as part of its fight against fake listings, unregistered activities, and consumer grievances in the real estate and automotive sectors.

With the new model the Ministry is working on, EİDS verification will be mandatory for real estate listing images shared on social media platforms. Accordingly, the official listing link verified through EİDS will be required to be included in the post along with the listing details.

According to the current regulation, real estate listings can only be entered into listing portals by the property owner, the property owner's first and second-degree blood relatives, their spouse, or officially authorized real estate businesses with an authorization certificate. Real estate agents without an authorization certificate and third parties cannot post listings to the system.

As reported by Türkiye Gazetesi, the new technical infrastructure aims to include marketing activities conducted by real estate businesses via social media within this verification framework. In the planned implementation, it will be required that the photos and videos used on social media belong to an official listing verified in EİDS.

If the conditions are met, businesses will be able to share images of the relevant property on their social media accounts in accordance with the regulations. The regulation aims to reduce fake listings and information pollution in the market.
