Statement on claims that 'Borsa Istanbul will be closed'
Following rumors circulating on social media that Borsa Istanbul would be closed on Monday, the Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) issued a statement.
It was claimed that Borsa Istanbul would be "closed to trading on Monday.
The Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM), affiliated with the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, issued a statement regarding the matter.
The DMM reported that the claim in question does not reflect the truth.
The statement included the following expressions:
"There is no decision taken or under evaluation regarding this matter by the authorized institutions.
The posts in question are a clear attempt at manipulation aimed at creating panic and distrust in the markets.
Necessary legal processes have been initiated regarding these baseless posts that aim to harm economic stability.
It is kindly requested that the public does not give credence to unfounded claims targeting the functioning of the financial system and only takes into account statements made by official institutions."
