Three price hikes for kitchen gas cylinders in three days... What is the latest price?
Successive increases in LPG prices have been reflected in kitchen gas cylinder prices. The 12-kilogram cylinder has risen to 1,680 TL, and the small camping cylinder to 375 TL.
Following the increases in LPG prices, new hikes have been applied to kitchen gas cylinders. The price of a 12-kilogram kitchen gas cylinder, which was sold for 1,550 TL on September 30, rose to 1,580 TL on October 1, and to 1,680 TL as of October 2.
Thus, a total increase of 130 TL occurred in the 12-kilogram kitchen gas cylinder within three days. The price of the small camping cylinder also rose to 350 TL on October 1 and to 375 TL on October 2.
The price increase was driven by the SCT (Special Consumption Tax) hike reflected on LPG and the subsequent new price increase. On October 1, the SCT increase was reflected as a hike of 4 TL 15 kuruş on gasoline, 3 TL 60 kuruş on diesel, and 1 TL 45 kuruş on LPG.
Following the SCT regulation, another hike was applied to LPG effective from October 2. While the increase in autogas prices was calculated at 4 TL 63 kuruş, this rise was directly reflected in the prices of cylinders used in kitchens.
Industry sources, noting that there is a rapid rise in cylinder prices, assessed that "the price of a 12-kilogram cylinder could reach 2,000 TL in the first months of the new year."
