Which investment instruments gained and which lost this week? The latest on the dollar, euro, stock market, and gold
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul gained an average of 1.96 percent on a weekly basis, while the gram price of gold rose by 2.20 percent, the euro/TL by 1.83 percent, and the dollar/TL by 1.09 percent.
The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 10,708.98 and a high of 11,113.55 points, completed the week at 11,064.85 points, gaining 1.96 percent compared to the previous week's close.
The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar increased by 2.20 percent this week to 2,559 liras, while the selling price of republic gold rose by 2.12 percent to 16,740 liras.
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 4,114 liras last weekend, rose to 4,201 liras.
This week, the US dollar gained 1.09 percent to reach 33.0750 liras, and the euro rose by 1.83 percent to 36.0410 liras.
Investment funds and pension funds gained 1.43 percent this week.
When viewed by category, the best-performing investment funds were "Stock" funds and "Fund Basket" funds, both with a gain of 1.95 percent.
