A snapshot of the collapse in education: Teachers wash the school building
In Şanlıurfa, teachers rolled up their sleeves to clean the school, once again highlighting the problems in the education system.
Footage of teachers in the Karaköprü district of Şanlıurfa rolling up their sleeves to clean the Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and washing the building's walls has sparked significant public backlash.
At a time when schools cannot even provide soap and free enrollment in public schools is not possible, the fact that teachers are forced to take on cleaning duties has become a symbol of the structural problems in education.
Meanwhile, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin continues to claim that everything is going well in the education system, drawing criticism from broad segments of society.
While it was noted that the moments of teachers cleaning were presented in a "sympathetic" light by the local press, the images were evaluated as one of the most concrete indicators of the layered collapse occurring in the education system.
Teachers at the Şanlıurfa Karaköprü Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School came together to clean the school and washed the school building thoroughly.
