Fines for parents of students who do not attend school
A new decision has been taken in Şanlıurfa to ensure student attendance at school. If a child does not attend school despite warnings, parents will face a fine of approximately 12 thousand liras.
Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak stated that they are making intensive efforts to ensure that every student in the province receives an education without staying away from school or being absent.
Expressing that one of the issues they attach the most importance to in education is students being chronically absent, Şıldak said, "Our goal is to ensure that every child and every student in Şanlıurfa receives an education without staying away from school or being absent."
Stating that they have also developed solution proposals on this matter, Şıldak said, "If the student is still not sent to school despite the warnings given in the first stage, a daily fine of 257 liras will be applied. However, if this does not yield results, an administrative sanction of over 11 thousand liras will be in question at the end of a 15-day period."
