Did the TUSAŞ attack happen in plain sight? The attack was planned months in advance!

Following the call made by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli from the parliamentary podium regarding Öcalan, a terrorist act occurred at TUSAŞ in Ankara. New details have begun to emerge following this terrorist act.

According to information obtained by Tolga Şardan from T24, an individual from the armed force known as the PKK's special forces was captured in the Şırnak region some time ago.

Information regarding TUSAŞ was obtained during the examination of the digital materials seized from the PKK member in question.

It is understood that following this discovery, a special team from the General Directorate of Security (EGM) went and inspected the facility, and the picture you read above emerged.

Furthermore, it was determined that at the time of the attack, the private security personnel who were martyred had to respond to the two terrorists with their sidearms because the long-barreled weapons that should have been used in the private security protection protocol were not on the personnel.

However, it was stated that the long-barreled weapons should have been in the hands of the private security guards, not in a locker.

Another issue is that the protection duty at the security point located approximately 1.5 kilometers from the facility was taken from the gendarmerie and transferred to TUSAŞ's private security unit.

The answer to the question of why the security point in question was taken from the gendarmerie and given to private security, despite the "insufficiency in practice" of the number of private security personnel at TUSAŞ, reveals the negligence in the process more clearly.

The terrorist attack on TUSAŞ and the chain of negligence have brought another problem to light.

Namely, within the framework of the current Provincial Administration Law, the country is placed under the responsibility of two main law enforcement agencies: the police and the gendarmerie.

Tolga Şardan stated that both institutions are responsible for incidents occurring in their respective areas of responsibility. However, he noted that when they enter each other's jurisdiction and area of responsibility, it creates administrative problems and vulnerabilities.

Due to its location, TUSAŞ is in the gendarmerie zone, and it causes problems for police units to carry out judicial or administrative procedures at the facility.

It was reported that the discovery that TUSAŞ was a target during the examination of the materials seized from the PKK member, and the subsequent inspection of the facility by the EGM Special Inspection Board, caused great discomfort to the Gendarmerie.

Moreover, following the intelligence obtained, experts from the General Directorate of Security's Counter-Terrorism Department went to TUSAŞ to meet with the management and provide training.

Therefore, with the amendment to the Regulation on the Implementation of Private Security Services published in the Official Gazette on October 22, one day before the attack, the way for EGM inspectors to conduct inspections at facilities in the gendarmerie zone was blocked.

Inspection authority was given to the Gendarmerie General Command in the gendarmerie zone.

However, this transfer of authority was not enough, and the attack that the PKK had planned in advance took place the next day.

It has not yet been shared with the public whether the Ministry of Interior, which launched a preliminary investigation following the previous terrorist attack on the General Directorate of Security in Ankara, has appointed inspectors regarding the TUSAŞ attack.
