Efendy, which first launched in Sydney in 2007, moved to Istanbul about five years ago to meet its guests in Turkey. The restaurant's Istanbul journey has reached its conclusion following this new decision.
The announcement stated that Efendy served its final meal in Istanbul on the evening of August 16, 2026. This marks a new chapter in Sivrioğlu's restaurant operations in Turkey.
In addition to being widely recognized for his television programs, Somer Sivrioğlu has also been known for his work in the field of gastronomy for many years. The decision for Efendy to return to Sydney has been interpreted as the brand refocusing on the city where its founding story began.
