Increase in tick-borne deaths in Sivas: Death toll rises to 13
32-year-old Aziz Kaya, who was receiving treatment in the hospital under suspicion of CCHF following a tick bite, has passed away despite all medical interventions. With Kaya's death, the number of people who have lost their lives due to tick-borne causes in Sivas this year has risen to 13.
32-year-old Aziz Kaya, who fell ill after a tick bite in the Yıldızeli district of Sivas, has passed away at the hospital where he was being treated under suspicion of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF).
According to the information obtained, Kaya, a 2-child father who worked as a farmer in the Belcik village of Yıldızeli district, had a tick attach to his body. After falling ill some time later, Kaya was taken to Yıldızeli State Hospital by his relatives.

Following initial intervention, Kaya was transferred to Sivas Cumhuriyet University Health Services Application and Research Hospital and was admitted to the Anesthesia Intensive Care Unit under suspicion of CCHF. Kaya could not be saved despite all the interventions of the doctors.

It was learned that Kaya's body, which was received from the hospital by his relatives, will be laid to rest in Belcik village.
