Ministry updates the list: Unbelievable adulteration found in some food products

The Ministry continues to publish products found to be non-compliant following inspections conducted to ensure citizens' access to healthy food.

In the process from market shelves to the dinner table, inspections become visible through the public announcement of products suspected of imitation and adulteration.

Meat and meat products were among the prominent categories in the current list; various non-compliances were found in sucuk (Turkish sausage), roasted meat (kavurma), minced meat, and ready-to-eat meals.

Findings of food coloring or unauthorized substances in tea, sumac, and spice products are also among the records included in the current list.

The updated list also included ready-to-eat meals and meat products such as roasted meat, tantuni, sucuk, and lahmacun.

It was reported that non-compliances such as equine meat, offal, and food coloring were detected in some products during the inspections.

The inspection results covered spices and herbal products in addition to ready-to-eat meals and delicatessen products.

The table listed detections of equine meat in some roasted meat, tantuni, and sucuk products in Mersin and Kırklareli.

In this section of the list, detections of equine meat, pharmaceutical active ingredients, and dyes not permitted for use in food drew attention.

The inspection results covered spices and herbal products in addition to ready-to-eat meals and delicatessen products.

This section included findings of vegetable oil, melting salts, and starch in some dairy products, and mechanically separated poultry meat in some chicken sausages.

The list detailed findings such as poultry meat, offal, and soy in beef mince, sucuk, lahmacun, raw mince, manti, and pide products.

This section included findings of poultry meat or offal in some meat dishes; mixing of seed oils into olive oil; and food coloring in tea and sumac.

The final section of the list included a finding of imitation or adulteration for two strained flower honey records located in Akyurt, Ankara.
