Allegations of threats and insults against Erdoğan: Suspect arrested
Cengiz Aydemir, who was under investigation in Istanbul due to a social media post, has been arrested by the court to which he was referred.
The Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into Cengiz Aydemir on the grounds that he shared a video on social media containing insults and threats directed at President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
During the investigation, the suspect's identity and address were determined. Aydemir was apprehended and taken into custody in an operation conducted by teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Security Branch.

After completing his procedures at the police station, Aydemir was referred to the courthouse and subsequently arrested by the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace.
According to information obtained, it was stated that Aydemir filmed the video in the vicinity of the Çengelköy Police House and used expressions containing threats and insults directed at President Erdoğan in the recording. It was reported that upon the identification of the footage, the investigation was carried out under the coordination of the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
