Kurtlar Vadisi and Pana Film defense in Kaşif Kozinoğlu investigation
The gendarmerie testimony of Bayram Özbek, who was arrested in the investigation into the death of former MİT member Kaşif Kozinoğlu, has been revealed.
New details have emerged in the suspicious death investigation regarding the passing of former MİT member Kaşif Kozinoğlu at Silivri Prison. In his testimony to the gendarmerie, former police chief Bayram Özbek, who was arrested after being detained as part of the investigation, was questioned about allegations concerning the TV series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu (Valley of the Wolves: Ambush) and Pana Film.
Özbek was asked whether he had directed the script team or influenced the death scene of the character "Kazım Kaşifoğlu" in the series. Stating that he served in the police force for 20 years and was dismissed by a statutory decree (KHK) in 2016, Özbek argued that he had no connection with the production company.
I absolutely did not write the script for the TV series titled Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, which you have asked me about. I did not intervene in any script, nor did I provide any guidance. I do not know the producers, directors, or screenwriters of this series. I have never met with Pana Film officials through any means of communication or in person. They do not know me either.
Allegations had previously surfaced that Özbek, who was stated to have been part of the team of former Istanbul Intelligence Branch Chief Ali Fuat Yılmazer, was one of the police chiefs who directed the script team of Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu. It is also known that Özbek declared he had written the scripts for series such as "Tek Türkiye," "Kollama," "Beşinci Boyut," and "Yeşeren Düşler," which were broadcast on Samanyolu TV.
TAHŞİYE CASE ALSO BROUGHT UP
The reasoned decision in the case regarding the conspiracy against the Tahşiye group included assessments concerning the organization's media and police structure. In that case, Samanyolu Broadcasting Group Chairman Hidayet Karaca was sentenced to 31 years in prison, and former Istanbul Intelligence Branch Chief Ali Fuat Yılmazer was sentenced to 16 years and 6 months.
The judicial process regarding Bayram Özbek continues as part of the investigation into the death of Kaşif Kozinoğlu.
