New allegation in AHBAP investigation: Medicine found in bank safe instead of 1 million euros

In the investigation conducted into the AHBAP Association and its president Haluk Levent, a new allegation regarding the association's financial transactions has come to light. TGRT Haber Ankara Representative Fatih Atik stated in a live broadcast, citing information from judicial sources, that 1 million euros, which was reportedly converted into foreign currency, could not be found in the association's bank safe.

According to Atik, the process began when the AHBAP Association Board of Directors decided to convert a portion of the cash in the safe into foreign currency to prevent it from losing value against currency fluctuations. It is alleged that money was sent to a currency exchange office for this purpose.

Atik described the decision during the live broadcast, saying, "The AHBAP Association Board of Directors made a decision at that time... There is money in the safe, but the foreign currency rate is rising, so they decided to convert a portion of it into foreign currency and put it in the safe, to put it in the bank safe."

Safe allegation brought up in live broadcast

According to the information provided by Atik, the note "Aid to Gaza" was written in the description section of the money transfer made for the currency purchase. Regarding this statement in the records, Fatih Atik said, "Then money was sent to the currency exchange office by the AHBAP management for the purchase of 1 million euros in foreign currency. Even though the reason was to put money in the safe, they wrote 'Aid to Gaza' on the money sent for the currency purchase."

It was stated that police teams examining these transactions as part of the investigation turned their attention to the bank safe where the money was allegedly kept. Atik claimed that the safe was opened in the presence of the police and that only medicine was found inside instead of 1 million euros.

Fatih Atik stated that the 1 million euros, which he said could not be found, corresponds to approximately 55 million TL at the current exchange rate, and expressed that the incident is also significant for the citizens who made donations.

In his assessment during the broadcast, Atik said, "It is very grave... 55 million. They are looking for it in the safe and cannot find it... It is an interesting situation. Those who make monetary donations should think again, meaning, where did the money go?"
