Vahap Seçer's statement process has begun

The statement process at the Mersin Provincial Police Department has begun for Vahap Seçer, the President of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye and Mayor of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, who was detained on October 1 as part of an investigation conducted by the Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

In the proceedings conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the "corruption" investigation, 59 suspects, including Yenişehir Mayor Abdullah Özyiğit and Mezitli Mayor Ahmet Serkan Tuncer, in addition to Seçer, had been detained.

According to the information obtained, Seçer's statement process at the police department is expected to continue until late at night.

It was learned that the proceedings regarding the other suspects within the scope of the investigation are also ongoing.
