TV and film actor Ahmet Uğurlu was laid to rest at the Anadolu Hisarı Cemetery yesterday following the noon prayer held at Şakirin Mosque.

The funeral ceremony was attended by many figures from the art and social world, most notably Ahmet Uğurlu's wife Necef Uğurlu, his son Orhan Uğurlu, Mustafa Uğurlu, Tamer Karadağlı, and Derviş Zaim.

'PLEASE TAKE CARE OF MY MEMORIES'

It has been learned that Uğurlu, who gained widespread recognition for his role as Mahsun in the film 'Somersault in a Coffin' (Tabutta Rövaşata), told his brother Mustafa Uğurlu before he died, "Please take care of my memories."

WHO IS AHMET UĞURLU

Born in Konya in 1952, Ahmet Uğurlu graduated from the Ankara State Conservatory, Department of Theater. Uğurlu, who began his artistic career at the State Theaters, built a successful career there by taking part in various plays for 13 years.

In addition to theater, the artist also took on significant roles in the world of cinema, stepping into his film career with the movie "Mine."

Ahmet Uğurlu achieved a major breakthrough with the character 'Mahsun' he portrayed in the film "Somersault in a Coffin," directed by Derviş Zaim, and won numerous awards. Throughout his career, he starred in many TV series and films such as Faint Sound, The Hunter (Avcı), A Matter of Homeland (Memleket Meselesi), Döngel Kârhanesi, Crossroads (Yol Ayrımı), and Behzat Ç.

Having won the hearts of audiences with his performances, Uğurlu became an artist who left a mark on the world of Turkish cinema and theater.

One of Uğurlu's most well-known performances, the film "Somersault in a Coffin," brought him many awards and took its place among the important productions of Turkish cinema.

Ahmet Uğurlu was deemed worthy of countless awards for the outstanding performances he displayed throughout his artistic career.

Ahmet Uğurlu passed away on May 30, 2024.
