Atatürk question eliminates contestant on 'Kim Milyoner Olmak İster'

The popular quiz show "Kim Milyoner Olmak İster" (Who Wants to Be a Millionaire) drew attention this time with a historical question. In the program hosted by Oktay Kaynarca, the contestant was asked: "What is the name of the mathematics teacher who gave Mustafa Kemal Atatürk the name 'Kemal'?"

HE WAS UNDECIDED BETWEEN THE ANSWER OPTIONS

The four options provided were: "Mehmet", "Kemal", "Ali Rıza", and "Mustafa". Although the contestant still had many lifelines remaining, he was undecided between "Kemal" and "Mustafa". Stating that he was hesitant, the contestant ultimately marked the "Kemal" option as his final answer.

OKTAY KAYNARCA EXPLAINED THE ANSWER WITH THE STORY

Following the incorrect answer, Oktay Kaynarca shared the story behind the contribution of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's teacher to his name with these words:

"Kamile, the story goes like this: His teacher says, 'Both of our names are Mustafa. Let yours be Mustafa Kemal.'"

With this explanation, it was revealed that the correct answer to the question was "Mustafa".

After the incorrect answer, the contestant expressed his feelings with these words:

"I am very sad to have been eliminated on such a question. I had a lot of lifelines left. I couldn't manage my stress at all."
