Master artist Kayahan passed away in 2015 after losing his battle with soft tissue cancer.

His funeral was held at Teşvikiye Mosque, and in accordance with his will, he was laid to rest in the family plot at Kanlıca Cemetery in Beykoz.

Nine years after his passing, the late artist Kayahan has not been forgotten.

'I AM IN KANLICA WITH MY PRAYERS'

Beste Açar, the daughter of Kayahan from his marriage to Nur Açar, expressed her longing for her father with these words:

"It is the 9th year since your departure, my dear father... You are in my heart, my mind, my soul, in the words that knot in my throat, and in the tears hidden in my eyes at every moment. Even if I cannot hug you tomorrow, I will be in Kanlıca again with my prayers."
