Bilal Erdoğan serves as wedding witness: Advises young couple to have at least 3 children

New Turkey Education Foundation (YETEV) Board of Trustees Chairman Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan attended the wedding ceremony of Merve Varlı and M. Zahid Tüfekçi, which was held at a private venue in Ankara.

Serving as a witness for the young couple, Erdoğan drew attention to the importance of marriage in human life. Erdoğan said, "The families, guests, and friends of this young couple have come together on this happy evening.

Two young Muslim siblings are deciding to unite their lives for a very auspicious, very blessed, and major step. And as they embark on this sacred journey with all their families, they are sharing this beautiful moment with their acquaintances and friends. There can be nothing more beautiful than this. This night is one of the most beautiful moments a person will experience in their life. Because it is the first step, the first evening of a blessed marital union that will last a lifetime," he said.

"Family is truly sacred"

Touching upon the importance of family in terms of faith and society, Erdoğan stated, "This is the word of the Prophet and the command of Allah. The command of Allah means that Allah has commanded us to marry. The word of the Prophet means that our Prophet has confirmed this with his words. This is truly a duty and a responsibility upon us that has a religious equivalent and meaning, and on the other hand, when a lady and a gentleman embark on this journey, they need to share this happiness with the people around them for that reason. Because family is truly sacred," he expressed.

"Let us all pray together that they have at least three children"

Stating that marriage is important for the continuation of generations and a strong society, Erdoğan recalled President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's advice of 3 children. Erdoğan said, "And of course, the most perfect thing a person can do regarding the multiplication of generations, the strength of a nation, and the world becoming a better place is to take the step of marriage. Hopefully, these siblings of ours will also live with respect and love for each other for a lifetime, of course. Of course, they will have very beautiful children. Our President has been saying for twenty years that there should be at least three children. Therefore, let us all pray together that these siblings of ours have at least three children. And hopefully, those three children we raise, or more, will each be a Saladin, a Fatimah, a Khadija. May they also raise many children," he spoke.

Following his speech, Bilal Erdoğan presented the marriage certificate to the bride, saying, "Therefore, while congratulating our young couple, their families, and all our guests on this beautiful step and this happy day, I am presenting this marriage certificate to the lady, hopefully.
