'Çocuklar Duymasın' star Hayal Garip: 'I was subjected to physical violence'

'Çocuklar Duymasın' star Hayal Garip: 'I was subjected to physical violence'

Hayâl Garip, known for the unforgettable series 'Çocuklar Duymasın', married Murat Kahraman Özalp in 2010 and stepped away from the television world.

The actress, who had two daughters from this marriage, divorced in 2021.

Hayal Garip alleged that she was subjected to violence by Serkan K., with whom she had a relationship last year. In her statement, the actress noted that she had filed a lawsuit against Serkan K. and that her hearing was scheduled for today.

Hayal Garip said the following:

"Last year, I had a relationship with Serkan K. that many of you witnessed. It was a time when we presented a happy picture with three girls that you all saw... But the reality was that within this relationship, I was subjected to emotional and physical violence.

Violence does not come immediately. First, they provide trust, show affection, say 'everyone else might leave, but I am here,' they see all your shortcomings and fill the voids. Once they have secured their place, the violence begins. The hope that you will regain that goodness you saw in the bad person also comes with manipulations. You cannot leave, you cannot stay!

It is a vicious cycle from which you can never manage to escape! The pressure, manipulation, and physical violence that increased every time I tried to distance myself trapped me in this relationship. Insults, slander, beatings, beatings, and more beatings... I managed to get out of this cycle that lasted for months with great difficulty. I finally escaped... But the traumas left for my children and me sometimes make us weary...

First of all, I owe both an apology and my life to my daughters... To my cousins, brother-in-law, sister, my daughters' father Murat, my sister-in-law, and my brother who supported me unconditionally during this process, I love you all very much. And I would like to thank my friends whose names I cannot fit here, as well as my commander and soldier brothers serving at the Zekeriyaköy Gendarmerie Command.

Before my hearing to be held at the Çağlayan Courthouse on Thursday, 28.03.2024, at 10:00 AM, I deemed it appropriate to share my struggle with you, primarily for justice and perhaps more importantly, so that there are no other victims.

A little bit so that I don't feel alone, and so that other women don't feel alone either..."
