Expatriate traveling from Germany to Turkey forgets his wife at a gas station in Croatia

The vacation journey of Hüsnü and Hüsniye Şendiller, a couple driving from Germany to Turkey, turned into an unexpected incident during a fuel stop in Croatia.

According to the information obtained, 68-year-old Hüsnü Şendiller continued his journey after refueling his vehicle at a gas station. During this time, he did not notice that his 65-year-old wife, Hüsniye Şendiller, who had been resting in the back seat, had stepped out of the car to use the restroom.

When Hüsniye Şendiller returned from the restroom and saw that the car was no longer at the station, she was unable to reach her husband because her mobile phone had also been left in the vehicle. Seeking help from those around her, she called her daughter's number, which she knew by heart, and explained the situation to her daughter in Germany.

It was reported that Hüsnü Şendiller, who was contacted by their daughter via phone, realized at that moment that his wife was not in the vehicle. Turning back, Şendiller reunited with his wife at the same gas station approximately 6 hours later.

Following the mishap, the couple continued their journey to Turkey from where they left off. While the incident quickly became a topic of discussion on social media, users drew attention to the importance of checking passengers after breaks during long journeys.
