Fırat Tanış's first statement following İklim Tamkan's abuse allegations: 'I am the victim, my silence is not an admission'

Actor Fırat Tanış has released a statement following a restraining order issued against him by pianist and composer İklim Tamkan on the grounds of psychological abuse, threats, and stalking.

In a statement made via his social media account, Tanış referred to Law No. 6284, stating, "My silence is not an admission, but out of respect for the existence of the law."

The full statement made by Fırat Tanış is as follows:

"I am aware that the power of Law No. 6284, which I have defended for years, and the organization of society based on a woman's statement, will be for the benefit of everyone, including my own daughter, in the coming years.

For this reason, I do not think it is appropriate to make a statement. However, I want it to be known that my silence is not an admission, but out of respect for the existence of the law.

The entire process will be conducted by judicial authorities as it should be, and I believe that the judiciary will reveal the truth and end the victimization I am experiencing..."

İklim Tamkan had announced that she had obtained a restraining order against actor Fırat Tanış, with whom she ended her relationship in September 2023, on the grounds that he had subjected her to psychological abuse, threatened her, and stalked her.
