First statement from Engin Polat's mother, Şükran Polat: 'I am very angry'

The Istanbul Police Department Financial Crimes Branch teams completed the processing of 18 suspects, including the couple Dilan Polat and Engin Polat, who were taken into custody.

The suspects, whose statements were taken, were transferred to Kartal Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital at 09:00 for a medical check-up.

Following the medical check-up, the Polat couple was transferred to the Istanbul Anatolian Courthouse. Mother Şükran Polat, who did not leave her family's side, was also captured by cameras in the hospital courtyard.

Engin Polat's mother, Şükran Polat, expressed her frustration to members of the press, stating, “I am very angry, I want to say this. I do not want to say anything else.”
