Funeral arrangements for Can Gürzap announced

'Kurtlar Vadisi' (Valley of the Wolves), 'Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz' (The Bandits), 'Aşk Beklemez' and 'Medcezir', the TV, film, and theater actor known for productions such as these, has passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.

The funeral arrangements for Can Gürzap, whose sudden death left his family and loved ones in mourning, have been announced.

The first ceremony for Gürzap will take place tomorrow at 10:30 AM at the AKM.

Gürzap's funeral will be held at Taksim Mosque tomorrow (December 3) following the noon prayer, after which he will be laid to rest at the Sapanca Kırkpınar family cemetery.

Can Gürzap, who had been providing speech and diction lessons to young people at the Dialog Institute since 1990, left this message for his students and the youth before his death:

"The most important things in life are education, art, and sports. Do not forget this."

WHO IS CAN GÜRZAP?

Can Gürzap was born on May 26, 1944, in Istanbul and was a prominent film, theater, and TV actor, writer, and educator. The artist, who received his first theater training from his father Reşit Gürzap, who was also an artist, graduated from Kadıköy Maarif College in 1962, then completed his studies at the Ankara State Conservatory Theater Department and trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.

He served as a director and actor at the Ankara State Theater.

He taught classes as a teacher at the conservatory. He prepared many radio plays for TRT. He married Arsen Gürzap in 1971. In 1978, he became the founding director of the Istanbul State Theater. The artist, who was also a translator and screenwriter, founded "Dialog" in 1990, which provides training on correct, beautiful, and impressive speech.

Over the years, Dialog became one of the most important institutions providing training in this field. He served as an instructor at this institution for many years. He took part in feature films and TV series.

Kartallar Yüksek Uçar, Ateşten Günler, Yorgun Savaşçı, Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz and Medcezir were some of the series in which Can Gürzap appeared.

Can Gürzap passed away on December 1, 2023.
