Prison sentence for former model Deniz Akkaya!
Former model Deniz Akkaya has been sentenced to 2 years, 4 months, and 15 days in prison for threatening and insulting a judge on social media.
The trial in which Deniz Akkaya was accused of threatening and insulting the judge overseeing her daughter's custody case on social media has concluded.
In the hearing held at the Istanbul 6th Criminal Court of First Instance, it was noted that Akkaya had been facing a potential prison sentence of up to 5 years and 11 months.
Akkaya, who did not attend the hearing, had her lawyer request an acquittal.
However, the court sentenced Akkaya to a total of 2 years, 4 months, and 15 days in prison for the crimes of threatening and insulting a judge.
The court also reviewed the decisions regarding the deferment of the announcement of the verdict from Akkaya's previous cases and lifted her travel ban.
INDICTMENT DETAILS
In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was requested that Akkaya be sentenced to between 1 year, 5 months, 15 days and 5 years, 11 months in prison for the crimes of serial insult and threat against a public official due to their duty.
