He had been receiving treatment for some time: Nuri Alço to have a pacemaker implanted
Actor Nuri Alço (73) has been transferred to Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in Ankara following the completion of his treatment process at Eskişehir City Hospital. Burcu Alço stated that her husband will have a pacemaker implanted.
Actor Nuri Alço, who was taken to a private hospital after falling ill at his home in Eskişehir on April 6, had been transferred to Eskişehir City Hospital on April 7.
Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sungur had provided the following information regarding Alço's health status:
"He basically has three problems. There were neurological issues. An MRI taken due to complaints of nausea revealed a millimetric area of hemorrhage in the posterior region of the brain. However, as of now, he is stable regarding this problem. There is no loss of strength, and there is no problem with his speech. In this sense, he is stable. He is receiving his treatment. Another issue is that Mr. Nuri has a history of a previous bypass operation and a heart valve operation.
For this reason, we had concerns related to a heart rhythm disorder and pumping problem. The necessary treatments for these are being administered. With diuretic therapy and treatment for the rhythm disorder, we are currently stable in these areas as well."
"The oxygen therapy he receives via a device is continuing intermittently at this stage. In this sense, we are also stable. Another problem is that, as a result of this heart condition, there is an infection in his lungs. He is receiving antibiotic treatment for this as well. We are also stable at this point. I can state that as of today, he is more stable and in better condition. Hopefully, we will give better news to his loved ones. At this stage, there is no apparent life-threatening danger. He is smiling, talking, and his morale is very high."
Having completed his treatment, Nuri Alço was transferred by ambulance to Ankara Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine last night.
Burcu Alço announced that a pacemaker will be implanted to address her husband's condition related to his heart rate.
