Veteran actress Hülya Koçyiğit met with the people of Trabzon the other day as part of the Turkey Culture Route Festival.
The actress stated that there was no money to pay the extras while the movie 'Dry Summer' was being filmed, and added:
"For that reason, an announcement was made to the villagers: 'A film will be shot in this square, and you will throw stones at the woman there. You will grab her by her hair, drag her, and lynch her.'
A bunch of young people, eager to act, were actually lynching me in the village square. My mother was on set at the time, and she desperately threw herself in front of the cameras, running and shouting, 'Don't touch my child!' Of course, the scene was ruined. Later, announcements were made, and it was explained that this was not real.
When Ali Şen, the father of Şener Şen, saw the frenzy of the crowd, he threw himself over me and tried to protect me from being lynched."
