It was found inside a box at the bus terminal... The latest state of that monkey surprised everyone
Found inside a box at the intercity bus terminal in Antalya, a baby "Rhesus" monkey named "Fıstık" (Peanut) has become the mascot of the wildlife park with its adorable movements.
In Antalya, a box sent by bus from Ankara to the Metropolitan Municipality Intercity Bus Terminal was scanned through an x-ray device, where it was discovered that it contained a baby "Rhesus" monkey.
Following a veterinary check-up, the baby monkey was handed over to the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Wildlife Park and placed in quarantine.
The 3-4 month-old female monkey, which visitors can watch from a distance in a special area reserved for her, is being closely monitored by veterinarians.
The baby monkey, which is fed a special diet consisting of vegetables, nuts, and eggs, has also been provided with small courses made of rope ladders and logs in her quarantine cage to support her physical development.
The moments when the baby, which attracts the curiosity of visitors, is fed, especially in the morning hours, have become a center of attention. The baby monkey has turned into the favorite of the wildlife park with its cute movements.
Visitors who want to take pictures of the monkey spend a long time around the cage.
CHILDREN BRING PLUSH TOYS FOR IT TO PLAY WITH
Antalya Wildlife Park Manager Aygül Arsun stated that they changed the monkey's previously given name "Minik" (Tiny) to "Fıstık" (Peanut) because it loves peanuts very much.
Stating that almost all incoming visitors ask about the monkey's condition, Arsun said, "It attracts a lot of attention because it is shared quite a lot on social media. It has practically become the mascot of our zoo. We prepared a special area for it. It has a heated room. In sunny weather, it goes out to its garden and attracts attention with its cute movements in the sun."
Expressing that "Fıstık" has a very good appetite, Arsun noted that after the quarantine process ends, they will integrate it with the Rhesus monkey troop, where it will live a happier life.
Stating that the section where the monkey is located can be seen by visitors from a distance, Arsun said, "Despite that, visitors make an effort to see it. Children bring plush toys with them for it to play with. We put them in its room. Sometimes it lies on the toys and hugs them."
Arsun stated that she believes a monkey named "Muko" will adopt "Fıstık" after the rehabilitation process and approach it with maternal affection, adding, "This monkey of ours had previously acted as a mother to two other cubs that were confiscated in this way. It will raise 'Fıstık' by showing affection as well."
