Entering the March 31 local elections without alliances, the CHP rose to become the leading party according to unofficial results for the first time since the 1977 elections, achieving a significant 'victory' for itself.
Famous actress Müjde Ar took aim at artist Orhan Gencebay, who composed a song for the People's Alliance's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Murat Kurum and remained on the agenda throughout the election process.
Ar said, "Don't leave the balcony empty. Call Gencebay and let them sing the song 'Bir Teselli Ver' (Give Me Some Consolation)."
