Ayça Aykaç, a player for the Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team and VakıfBank, tied the knot with Galatasaray Women's Team Statistics Coach Mert Altıntaş in İzmir.

The wedding ceremony, held at a venue in Narlıdere, was officiated by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer.

The couple's witnesses were Turkish Volleyball Federation President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ, VakıfBank Head Coach Giovanni Guidetti, VakıfBank Deputy General Manager and Sports Club Vice President Ferkan Merdan, and Ata Gündüzalp.

The couple was joined by their families and fellow volleyball players.

"IT MADE ME VERY EXCITED"

Wishing the young couple happiness during the ceremony, Tunç Soyer said:

"I have been officiating weddings for 14.5 years, but officiating a wedding in front of so many champions made me very excited. I hope that your entire life will be spent in happiness with your loved ones, just like this beautiful autumn evening."

Turkish Volleyball Federation President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ stated, "Our Sultans have fought all over the world. They have proven how much they love this country and how they have become the pride of this country. While experiencing this victory, we have a child of ours who is getting married here 5 days later. They have proven in these four months what Turkish women can do with self-sacrifice. They have brought this beauty to this country and became its pride. Next up is the Olympic championship."
