In a post he made on X around noon, Gökbakar stated: "Oh my, oh my... Look at that barricade. Saraçhane is impassable! I wish the effort shown to keep our own citizens out of Taksim was instead shown to keep unknown illegal migrants out of our country, don't you think?"
