Famous actor Şahan Gökbakar criticized the police barricade set up in front of the Valens Aqueduct (Bozdoğan Kemeri) against citizens who wanted to reach Taksim Square for May 1st, Labor and Solidarity Day, via his social media account.

In a post he made on X around noon, Gökbakar stated: "Oh my, oh my... Look at that barricade. Saraçhane is impassable! I wish the effort shown to keep our own citizens out of Taksim was instead shown to keep unknown illegal migrants out of our country, don't you think?"
