Statement from Dilan and Engin Polat's lawyer on 'withdrawing from the case'
Çağdaş Çelik, the lawyer for the Dilan-Engin Polat couple, who are under investigation for allegations including money laundering and tax evasion, has announced that he will withdraw from the case if the money laundering allegations are proven with evidence in the file.
The Dilan-Engin Polat couple, who are under investigation for allegations including money laundering and tax evasion, continues to dominate the agenda.
Speaking on the YouTube channel named Sade Vatandaş, the couple's lawyer Çağdaş Çelik stated, "If money laundering is clearly proven with evidence in the file, I will clearly withdraw."
'I HAVE TO TRUST THEIR STATEMENTS'
Stating that Engin Polat told him these allegations were not true, Çelik said, "I am bound by my clients' statements; I have to trust them. My client telling me 'there is no money laundering' is valid until I see these documents and until the evidence is presented."
ARE THEY GOING TO FLEE?
Influencer Dilan Polat closed her social media accounts the other day.
Following the incident, journalist Cüneyt Özdemir complained on his social media account without naming names, saying, "They paid bribes and are fleeing," while journalist Alican Uludağ warned, "As the procedures are delayed, the possibilities of fleeing and tampering with evidence increase."
In his social media post, Cüneyt Özdemir said, "Honest members of the judiciary and police are watching helplessly. They paid bribes and are fleeing... The truth cannot be hidden... In this story, everyone—in the police, among lawyers, prosecutors, and judges—will be exposed one by one."
Quoting Özdemir's post, Alican Uludağ stated, "There is currently a travel ban for Dilan Polat and her husband. I believe the police are monitoring them 24/7. However, for detention or similar actions to take place, the file needs to be sent to the Anadolu Courthouse. As the procedures are delayed, the possibilities of fleeing and tampering with evidence increase."
