Statement from Münevver Karabulut's father on 'Cem Garipoğlu': 'I have doubts'

The veil of mystery surrounding "Is Cem Garipoğlu dead or alive?" has been lifted by Müslim Sarıyar from 12punto.com.tr.

Police officer Ekrem Tosun, who participated in Cem Garipoğlu's autopsy, stated, "The person who underwent the autopsy was one hundred percent Cem Garipoğlu."

Despite this statement by Ekrem Tosun, the public debate regarding 'Cem Garipoğlu' has not ended.

A SURPRISE REQUEST FROM NİDA GARİPOĞLU

Cem Garipoğlu's father, Mehmet Nida Garipoğlu, applied to the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, requesting that his son's grave be opened and a DNA match be performed.

Through his lawyer, father Garipoğlu requested an "exhumation" and DNA matching for his son's grave from the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

In the petition, it was pointed out that although more than 10 years have passed since the murder committed by Mehmet Nida Garipoğlu's son, the issue has been brought to the agenda periodically, intermittently, but continuously.

'I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING FOR THE GRAVE TO BE OPENED'

Speaking to Sabah following Garipoğlu's petition, Münevver Karabulut's father, Süreyya Karabulut, said, "I am very surprised. I don't know what to say. I have been fighting for the grave to be opened for over a year. My deep doubts have continued since the day it was said that the murderer died. I am also saying let it be opened; I am not saying anything else. We are the ones whose peace of mind is truly disturbed. Let that grave be opened so we can find peace and be at ease."
