The first film of the Star Wars series to be screened in Istanbul
Directed by George Lucas and starring actors such as Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher, 'Star Wars: A New Hope' will be available to watch at Zorlu PSM, accompanied by John Williams' film score.
The 'Star Wars: A New Hope In Concert' event will take place at Zorlu PSM on May 4, recognized as 'World Star Wars Day,' at 16:00 and 21:00.
The Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra will provide live musical accompaniment to the film screening.
PLOT OF THE FILM STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope is a 1977 science fiction film belonging to the Star Wars series.
It was written and directed by George Lucas. It is the first film in the series by production date, but the fourth film in the chronological order of the story.
The film was released on May 25, 1977, and was produced with a budget of 11 million dollars, grossing 798 million dollars worldwide.
In 1989, the film was selected by the Library of Congress as being 'culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant' and was chosen for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry.
