A world-class leader, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, passed away on November 10, 1938, at the age of 57 due to cirrhosis.

Following Atatürk's death, that letter penned by British women's rights activist Bayard Simmons has come to the fore once again.

'HE WILL BE REMEMBERED WITH ETERNAL GRATITUDE'

The following statements were included in that letter written by Bayard Simmons:

"As the first British person to be imprisoned in my own country for advocating the campaign for women's suffrage, may I offer my deepest condolences on the death of the President of Turkey?

What he did for women in his own country will be remembered with eternal gratitude by feminists all over the world. Long live the Republic of Turkey, based on the ideals of Kemal Atatürk!"
