A 15 percent hike has been applied to taxi and minibus fares in Edirne. With the new tariff, the student fare for minibuses using electronic cards has been set at 28.5 liras, and the full fare at 42 liras.
The October Ordinary Meeting of the Edirne Municipal Council was held at the Atatürk Cultural Center. During the meeting, the fare hike request from drivers, citing increases in fuel prices, was evaluated.
As a result of the evaluation made by the Planning and Budget Commission, an increase was implemented for taxi and minibus fares. Accordingly, the taxi opening fee was raised from 65 liras to 75 liras, and the per-kilometer fee was increased from 40 liras to 46 liras.
In the new taxi tariff, the 100-meter unit distance fee became 4.60 liras, the per-minute waiting fee became 8.5 liras, and the hourly waiting fee became 510 liras. The minimum fare per trip was also increased from 160 liras to 185 liras.
