Accident on the way to a wedding in Edirne: Two cars collided, 9 people seriously injured

Nine people were seriously injured as a result of a collision between two cars in the Keşan district of Edirne. The accident occurred at the Kozköy Junction on the Keşan-Uzunköprü highway.

A car with license plate 57 A.. 496, driven by M.P. and traveling from Uzunköprü toward Keşan, collided at the junction with a car with license plate 22 P. 011, driven by A.Y., who was coming from the opposite direction and attempting to turn toward Kozköy.

It was stated that due to the impact, the vehicles entered a drainage ditch on the side of the road and were thrown approximately 50 meters. Upon notification, police, gendarmerie, fire department, and medical teams were dispatched to the area.

The drivers M.P. and A.Y., as well as G.Y., G.Y., F.A., Z.P., A.K.P., E.P., and D.P., who were in the vehicles, were injured in the accident. The injured were taken to hospitals in Keşan and Uzunköprü by ambulance.

It was reported that the injured, who are under treatment, remain in critical condition. Among the injured, A.K.P. and D.P. were transferred to Trakya University Faculty of Medicine Hospital for further examination and treatment.

It was learned that A.Y. and those accompanying them were on their way from Keşan to attend a wedding in Kozköy. An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
