The accident occurred in the Denizciler neighborhood of the İskenderun district. While in motion, the backhoe's brake system failed, and the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The backhoe struck parked vehicles, damaging 7 of them. 8 people were injured in the accident. The injured were transported to the hospital by ambulances that arrived at the scene.
The moment the backhoe lost control and continued moving was captured on security camera. After the accident, the vehicles were removed from the scene, which had turned into a scene of wreckage, and the road was reopened to traffic.
