Construction hoarding collapses on twin sisters on Bağdat Avenue
Twin sisters walking on the sidewalk in Suadiye, Kadıköy, were injured after the exterior protective hoarding of a construction site collapsed on them.
In Istanbul's Kadıköy district, exterior protective hoarding detached from a construction site on Bağdat Avenue and collapsed onto two people walking on the sidewalk. Twin sisters Zeynep A. and retired teacher Ayfer A. were injured in the incident.
The incident occurred on Monday, September 28, at approximately 14:00 in the Suadiye neighborhood on Bağdat Avenue. According to information obtained, the construction site's exterior protective hoarding collapsed toward the road for reasons yet to be determined, falling onto pedestrians on the sidewalk.

Upon notification by bystanders, fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. The two injured sisters were taken to the hospital by ambulance after receiving initial intervention from medical teams at the scene.
It was learned that the treatment of Ayfer A. and Zeynep A. is ongoing at the hospital. Following the incident, an investigation was launched to determine why the hoarding at the construction site collapsed.

Security camera recordings of the accident show the moments when the construction site's protective panel collapsed while pedestrians were walking on the sidewalk, trapping two people underneath.
