Crime rates explode in Turkey: 104 people caught in one operation

In inspections in Kayseri involving 636 police officers, 23,525 people were questioned, 104 wanted individuals were caught, and weapons and drugs were seized.

Crime rates explode in Turkey: 104 people caught in one operation

A total of 104 wanted individuals were caught during the "Martyr Murat Akpınar - 12" peace and public order operation organized by the Kayseri Provincial Police Department teams across the city.

A total of 636 police officers participated in the operation, which was conducted to maintain general public order and a secure environment. The teams carried out inspections at 54 designated points throughout the province.

During the checks, 23,525 people underwent General Information Gathering (GBT) questioning. Additionally, 9,342 vehicles were searched. 104 people with outstanding arrest warrants for various crimes were caught and taken into custody. Legal proceedings were also initiated against 23 draft evaders during the operation.

Searches resulted in the seizure of 1 unlicensed pistol, 2 unlicensed rifles, 3 blank-firing pistols, 1 air pistol, 17 cartridges, and 2 knives intended for purposes other than their intended use. The teams also found various amounts of narcotics and 40 drug pills.

In the traffic section of the inspections, 672 vehicles and drivers were issued fines for various violations. 34 vehicles determined to be in violation of regulations were banned from traffic.

In a statement following the operation, the Kayseri Provincial Police Department said, "Our fight against those who try to disturb the peace of our people will continue uninterrupted and decisively."
