Debt dispute ends in bloodshed in Aksaray: 2 people lost their lives
In the village of Gençosman in Aksaray, 2 people were shot and killed in an incident stemming from a debt dispute. The suspect has been taken into custody.
Murat Evgin (47) and Ali Selçuk (40) lost their lives in an armed incident in the village of Gençosman, located in the central district of Aksaray, which was reportedly caused by a debt dispute.
According to the information obtained, Osman B. (63) called Evgin and Selçuk, whom he claimed owed him money, and demanded payment. It was stated that after the pair said they could not make the payment, the suspect took a handgun from his home and went to the village.
Allegedly, Osman B. raided the house where Murat Evgin and Ali Selçuk were located and fired at the two individuals with the handgun. While the suspect fled the scene, villagers who heard the gunshots reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Upon the report, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Checks by the medical teams determined that Evgin and Selçuk had lost their lives.
Teams from the Intelligence Branch of the Aksaray Provincial Gendarmerie Command identified the suspect as Osman B. following an investigation and research. The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody during an operation conducted at his residence in the center of Aksaray.
Following the examination by the public prosecutor at the scene, the bodies of the two individuals were taken to the morgue of the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital for autopsy. The investigation initiated by the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is ongoing.
