Günay Çimentepe dies after being struck by a pickup truck at an intersection in Aydın

68-year-old Günay Çimentepe lost her life in a traffic accident that occurred in the Efeler district of Aydın.

The accident took place at the Highway Intersection in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the pickup truck with license plate 06 EMY 408, driven by E.Y., struck Çimentepe, who was allegedly selling tissues and water to vehicles stopped at the traffic lights at the intersection, for reasons yet to be determined.

Bystanders reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center for Çimentepe, who was thrown by the impact and sustained serious injuries. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

Çimentepe, whose heart was found to have stopped during the initial check by medical teams, was resuscitated following CPR. Despite all interventions by doctors at the Aydın City Hospital, where she was taken, Çimentepe could not be saved.

It was learned that an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
