He killed his uncle and severely wounded his aunt

The incident occurred around 16:30 in the Gülek neighborhood of Tarsus district.

Burak Şahbaz, who went to the home of his uncle Sait Şahbaz, began arguing with his aunt, Nihal Şahbaz, for reasons yet unknown.

Nihal Şahbaz, who was attacked by Şahbaz with an iron rod he found in the house, shouted for help from her husband.

The suspect also attacked his uncle, Sait Şahbaz (68), who entered the room, with the iron rod. Upon the notification of neighbors who saw the Şahbaz couple lying on the ground covered in blood, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene.

Checks performed by the medical team determined that Sait Şahbaz had died.

Nihal Şahbaz, who was severely wounded, was taken to Tarsus State Hospital by ambulance. It was learned that Şahbaz, who is undergoing treatment, remains in critical condition. Sait Şahbaz's lifeless body was taken to the morgue of the Mersin Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy following the investigation at the scene. The gendarmerie, who took the murder suspect into custody, is continuing the investigation into the incident.
